Want to guess what happened the weekend this styled shoot was originally planned? One of the biggest snow storms we have had on record! Yes, the Sunday that we had everything planned for the styled shoot it decided to snow like 3 feet! It was one of those “why me!?” moments, but thank goodness I was working with amazing vendors! Every single one of them was able to reschedule to the following weekend and we pulled it off with ease! It actually happened to be 45-50 degrees that evening and at that point I think we were all happy we had waited until the following weekend.
We hosted it at the gorgeous Brittland Manor House in Chestertown, Maryland. Overlooking the Chester River and with too many bedrooms to count, this mansion made you feel like you stepped back in time (and were about to attend a fancy dinner party). Our lovely stylists Kerry + Felicia brought everything together while they decorated two tables. One inside the dining room under the biggest gold chandelier I have ever seen! And one outside with their sequin gold table cloth I really wanted to steal ;) I kept telling them I’d be lost without them because my styling capabilities are a zero out of ten.
Our florals were beautifully done by Les Fluers Floral Design & Events and she surprised us with two bouquets! One that was perfect for our model and one that matched our styled table. We were also surprised when we met each other in person and then realized we went to middle school together! Such a small world! The GORGEOUS bridal gown was from Love and Lace Bridal Consignment and Boutique in Edgewater, MD. This awesome store is full of tons of gowns to choose from. When we brought our model to the store, we thought we knew the type of gown we wanted for the shoot. I'm a sucker for ball gowns and tulle, BUT when we put our model in the 3rd dress we knew that was it! It was so perfectly romantic and fit her shape so well. Plus we were going gaga over all of the jewels!
Hair and makeup was done by Kerry + Felicia. Kerry does hair and Felicia does makeup and they make a great team! They went for a low romantic bun and a red lip. Our fabulous yummy looking but too pretty to eat cake was done by Sunshine Sweets. Sydni is a Southern Maryland baker and very talented! We wanted to use the colors red and gold and her creation worked perfectly!
